Specific requirements for a baguette screening system led Sotech to develop an extruded aluminium suite of extrusions that simulated a natural terracotta baguette system. The resultant system, able to be manufactured within our factory, achieved the advantage of precision construction modular units of a large size yet with a low weight capable of being man-handled on-site with ease. All components were also fully recyclable.

Three specific dies are available to date and these will of course be added to as future design requirements dictate. From the approval of design, materials can be available within ten weeks, making the system highly flexible and ideal for time-sensitive projects.

At present we have available three textured paint finishes to simulate dark and light terracotta and an anthracite grey other standard RAL colours are available as required. Complementing the baguette system we can manufacture Sotech Optima Cassette rainscreen panels in a module of 1500mm x 500mm finished with the same textured finish paint.The module easily single spans 1500mm and only weighs 6kg/m2 against 50kg/m2 for traditional Terracotta tiles. Recent tests have shown spans over 2000mm are possible dependant on design load requirements. The resultant saving on structure and sub-structure to a massive saving on the installed price.

The nature of these systems allows for fast track development to suit specific design and functional requirements ensuring that design requirements can be met in the shortest possible time.
