FIRE WATERCHECK® TYPE X Lafarge

The board has a noncombustible gypsum core that is enhanced with glass fibers to offer greater strength and fire protection. The product also features a water-resistant wax emulsion for superior moisture protection for projects in damp environments. It is not for use in shower or bathtub applications.

Fire Watercheck is faced with recycled paper on the front, back, and long edges. The interior-facing (front) surface is green. This facing will accommodate a variety of decorative treatments - from tile to paint and paper - after proper surface preparation.

Lafarge has designed Fire Watercheck for use in interior wall and ceiling applications that require direct mechanical attachment to wood or metal framing, or as a component in fire-resistant assemblies. It may also be used as a thermal barrier in roof assemblies when specified by the roofing manufacturer.

When used in a certified sound-rated assembly, Fire Watercheck will also contribute to required Sound Transmission Class (STC) values.

Note: Fire Watercheck is suitable for interior applications only and should not be used where temperatures exceed 125 degrees Farenheit for extended periods of time. It is not designed to be used in areas of extreme humidity, or in areas where it may come in direct contact with water. The board should be protected from exposure to adverse conditions during storage and construction.
