Tessuto da tappezzeria in cotone
SEVRES Braquenié

Woven toile de Jouy inspired by the ancient Escarpolette document in our archives which was copper plate printed at the Oberkampf factory between 1783 and 1789. The design is by Jean-Baptiste Huet. It is typical of his second style, full of garlands and acanthus leaves. This cloth owes its title to the scene representing a young woman on a swing operated by a young boy pulling a rope. The design is complemented by animal compositions, conjuring up the fable of "Le corbeau et le renard" (The crow and the fox) as well as characters from antiquity...The extremely fine weave preserves the delicacy of the printed design and the fabric with 5 coloured variants presents a gentle hand for a dry, mat feel.
